Phantom is dedicated to the vigilante chosen by RAW officers to bring the criminals of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to book.

A disgraced army officer, Daniyal Khan (Saif Ali Khan) is living a mysterious life. He was subjected to court-martial because evidence indicated that he was not with his team when the enemy attacked. Looking to earn his stripes back he joins a covert intelligence group, who is upset that the Centre has not been able to avenge the 26/11 Mumbai killing.

There is a spellbinding scene in Phantom when one of the major characters asks a few navy officers, “Do you remember that night of 26/11 when you felt the most helpless and vulnerable?” The entire episode in the film takes us back to the appalling sentiment that we went through seven years ago.

The night when terrorists blatantly entered Mumbai to take the people under siege and killed thousands of citizens, leaving terror behind.

Reviving that wound is perhaps necessary because seven years from now, the vulnerability continues as no criminal masterminds behind the attack are in custody.  The director of the film Kabir Khan has presented a plot of a situation (adapted from S Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mumbai Avengers) in which a courageous, faceless agent is sent to the neighbouring country to quietly eliminate them all.

Daniyal Singh (Saif Ali Khan), a tainted soldier is sent as a ‘phantom’ agent to the neighbouring country on a deadly mission, he is introduced to Nawaz (Katrina Kaif), an ex-RAW agent. The duo join forces and try and eliminate by killing of each of those behind the attack.

The film is compact, edgy and full of suspense, Kabir Khan has given a balanced story. He has brought the same sentiment of helplessness by the citizens of both countries. Kabir shares the plight of a Pakistani mother who’s lost her son to LeT.

Saif Ali Khan is in his character throughout the film, his is the main hero along with his team. Katrina looks appealing and has done some action sequences on the battlefield, over all an impressive performance by both the lead actors.

Enjoy the film as the climax will take your breath away.
