With a lot of witty humor, Ajay Devgn & Saurabh Shukla have a lot going on to keep the audience glued to their seats till the end. Ajay and Ileana brign the romantic angle to the film. Raid has many impressive comic scene and quirky dialogue.

The plot of Raid is setup around Lucknow. Raj Kumar Gupta starts with taking the story a month earlier showing what all happened in the official raid. We get to see Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn) – an IAS officer who plays by the rules and does not want to compromise by getting influenced. He faces opposition from Rameshwar Singh aka Tauji (Saurabh Shukla). Amay is informed about Tauji’s illegal and untaxed treasure at his house by an unknown source. Amay was already been transferred for 49 times for his dedication to duty. He goes by his instincts and plots the riskiest raid ever. Tauji, who is a corrupt politician, tries his best to stay calm and keep Amay away from carrying out the raid. Amay beings to see results as he wanted and the rest of the film is created around Tauji’s and his huge ego.

The story is skillfully written by Ritesh Shah, he has plotted a story that is based on real events. A lot of research work has gone behind it. Ritesh has worked hard in the series of happenings and filtered it with all that was required to show keeping the entertaining factor alive. Powerful dialogues give a strong hold to this film. Giving star performances, Ajay Devgn is impressive throughout. The role of the officer is tailor made for Ajay Devgn and he owns the portrayal. Saurabh Shukla is the superb, he gives a memorable performance just like he did in last year’s Jolly LLB 2. He has a lot of screen time with bold lines and delivers with utmost honesty. He is impressive when he challenges Ajay, making the film entertaining throughout. Ileana D’Cruz gives a good performance. She plays her part well and looks charming. Amit Sial as Lallan Sudheer also adds to the film. He is smart and witty as an officer accompanying Ajay in the raid. Pushpa Joshi plays Saurabh Shukla’s mother – she is brilliant with her timely humor.

Raj Kumar Gupta’s film has good music with Papon’s song by Amit Trivedi, even the background score by Tanishk goes well with the narration.

Raid is an entertaining film, narration is excellent with top performances by Ajay Devgn & Saurabh Shukla.
