Dhadak adds freshness and colours to it’s adapted version from Sairat in Hindi. The film is so similar and different at the same time! Ishaan Khatter is remarkable in his role, Janhvi Kapoor is pleasant on the big screen and gives a delightful performance. The film is facing comparison with Sairat, Dhadak should be watched for comical moments, drama and genuine performances.

Dhadak is a remake of 2016’s Marathi blockbuster Sairat, this love story is heart warming starring Parthavi (Janhvi Kapoor) and Madhukar (Ishaan Khatter). The duo come from Udaipur where Parthavi is daughter of the well-known politician Ratan Singh and Madhukar is the son of an ordinary man managing a small hotel in the city. Parthavi falls in love with the simple and innocent Madhukar. They romance each other and audience gets to see a series of songs such as Dhadak, Pehli Baar and Zingaat, the couple kiss and the trouble begins because Parthavi’s family barges in to separate them. If the lovers stay together or abide by the rules of their family, the movie should be watched.

Dhadak does face a disadvantage as people know the climax and other elements of the film. The film features a few changes but the major parts continue to remain the same. Shashank Khaitan brought the innocent love alive throughout the film. This is a great remake and has captured the essence of Udaipur, with dramatic scenes, romantic scenes – the script and screenplay are commendable.

Dhadak starring Ishaan Khatter has impressed audience in Beyond The Clouds and his Bollywood launch couldn’t have been a better choice with Dhadak. He seems very comfortable with the camera and is a natural and holds a promising future in the industry. Janhvi Kapoor has surprised many with her honest performance. She has added a lot of charm and beauty to the film. She’s great in the emotional scenes. Ashutosh Rana has been outstanding as every other film of his. A special character that charmed audience is Sridhar Watsar (Purshottam)! The guy is hilarious and a treat to watch. Ankit Bisht (Gokul) gave a good performance in the film.

Shashank Khaitan has greatly contributed to the success of the film. Dhadak has Ajay-Atul offering good music in this love story. The title song ‘Marhami’ and Zingaat are full of zing. Pehli Baar/Yad Lagla’a brings freshness as it was featured in Sairat. Vaara Re is a soulful rendition in the film.

Dhadak is all about love! Skillfully performed by Ishaan & Janhvi, Shashank Khaitan has registered a win.
