Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy Stree has been shot in Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh. The virgin city has been recently visited and explored by Bollywood. The film is directed by Amar Kaushik, who shortlisted the city for his film, was keen on presenting the rawness of each location in an elaborate state.

During the shoot of the song titled Nazar Na Lag Jaaye, both Shraddha and Raj had gone on a special tour around the city. The song, which has been sung by Ash King and Sachin Jigar and is also composed by Sachin Jigar, has been shot in the night in some of the most spell binding locations. The song showcased the scene of a real mela, a lot of locals were involved in that shoot. Shraddha and Raj took their time exploring the funfair, played a few games and also shopped from there.

The scene has Rajkummar runs and catches Shraddha’s hand, like in the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge (more popularly known as DDLJ). There is yet another scene right after that in which he waves out like Deepika Padukone from ‘Om Shanti Om’. The song was shot in some of the monumental locations of Chanderi which the entire team is excited to unfold in the film.

Director Amar Kaushik shares, “The simplicity and warmth that you feel in Chanderi, make you fall in love with the city immediately. I was once passing through the city during my college days and was mesmerised my it’s beauty. So, when I read Stree, I just knew where to go! Shooting in a town like this with minimum facility for us could have been a task but it was made easy by the love and support we received from the locals. Not only we got the perfect look for our film, the entire crew had a blast working in Chanderi – right from enjoying the local food to shopping for sarees! Chanderi made it memorable for all of us.”

Dinesh Vijan presents Stree, a Maddock Films production in association with D2r films and Jio Studios. The horror comedy has been directed by Amar Kaushik and is all set to release on 31st August 2018.
