This is the third installment in the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise starts with introducing an Ayurvedic medicine named as Vajrakawach. World’s top most pharmaceutical companies are working hard to decode its formula for their own profit. The brotherly duo Yamla Pagla Deewana i.e Pooran (Sunny Deol) and Kaala (Bobby Deol) have the  traditional formula.

Parmar (Dharmendra) is a charmer and is living unlawfully in Pooran and Kaala’s house. Cheeku (Kirti Kharbanda) is a MBBS student who hails from Punjab to train under Pooran. The first half of this film is just casual jokes. Cheeku is introduced to the family and is handled as a suspense but director is unable to hold the screenplay well.

Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se has common jokes and dialogues, the screenplay is stretched and the jokes doesn’t get the right landing. With nothing happening, every situation seems scattered and the film tries hard to be an entertainer. The first installment, starring the Dharmendra and his two sons, was a blockbuster. Its sequel released in 2013 but it tanked at the box office. Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is releasing on August 31. ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se’ is from the popular franchise forward with a brand new story and characters that once again highlight the Deol brand of entertainment.

Dharmendra is fun with his boisterous charm, audience will like his antics. Sunny Deol is good with his punches that are not comical. Bobby Deol gets a lot of screenspace, but his character has only repetitive humour to offer. Bobby Deol is good in his role, whereas the rest of the crew give an average performance. Kirti Kharbanda is refreshing in her role. Songs are just filled in the film and causes obstruction and none of them click, at least in the first half.

The film takes the audience from Punjab to Gujarat, YPD 3 but misses many comic milestones. There are some funny moments and a few hilarious punchlines. The first courtroom scene in particular between Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha is endearingly funny.

The film is a loud comedy and culminates into a predictable climax. The film is for a diehard Deol fan.
