Sophie Turner presented the first look to the ‘Late Late Show.’
Sophie Turner has unveiled a spell binding trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
The star presented the trailer to Wednesday’s The Late Late Show, where she and host James Corden offered the first look at the X-Men film that will adapt the classic comic book storyline and send the Marvel mutants into space.
The film was rescheduled to release from its original November release date to February 14, 2019. The move was made to accommodate re-shoots for its third act and for what studio 20th Century Fox said was to allow it to launch in the prime February spot that saw 2016’s Deadpool and this year’s Black Panther become big hits.
The film once again stars James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Jessica Chastain joins the franchise in a villain role.
This will presumably be the final movie to feature the cast that donned the roles in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. The looming Disney-Fox merger will mean the X-Men will be seen into Marvel Studio’s cinematic universe, with Disney’s Bob Iger recently confirming to The Hollywood Reporter Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige would oversee the X-Men characters once the merger was completed.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is written and directed by longtime X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg, who has written 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, which partially adapted the classic 1980s Dark Phoenix storyline.
