Badhaai Ho is an entertainer, the movie has many hilarious one-liners (By Akshat Ghildial), perfectly timed with the right expressions. Each character conveys a lot, even when they aren’t saying much!

This fun and quirky family keeps the attention of the audience glued to the screen. A must watch, the film joins the new generation of filmmakers who have given us stories like Kapoor & Sons, Mehras (Dil Dhadakne Do), Banerjees (Piku). Kaushiks have Priyamvada and is the mother of the family who has her way of emotionally blackmailing her son to play Housie with her kitty party friends. Nakul (Ayushmann Khurrana) as every other son, is busy quarreling with his mother but loves her to the core. Nakul has a doting girlfriend in Renne (Sanya Malhotra) and a younger brother in Gullar. Father, Gulzar Jitendra aka Jeetu (Gajraj Rao) impregnates his wife Priyamvada and that’s the crux of the story. This is the beginning of the entire phase of ‘Log kya kahenge?’ and Nakul finds it difficult to ignore his colleagues, friends as well as Renne. The story revolves around the 9 months of pregnancy and the way family faces issues from the developing society. The story is written by Akshat Ghildial, Jyoti Kapoor and Shantanu Srivastava and is woven well. It is hilarious and ends on a similar fun and loving moments (second half) in between.

Badhaai Ho movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana, who is enjoying the success of his new film Andhadhun. He can be seen switching to a different character and proves that he is a very sharp actor. He has delivered a wonderful performance here. Young actor playing his brother is to watch out for in future roles. Surekha Sikri as Dadi is exceptional and is the biggest takeaway from this film. She conveys some hilarious dialogues, adding to all the fun. Gajraj Rao is great and in his unique style of keeping words to his mouth makes him phenomenal to watch. Neena Gupta is charming and her act makes her look adorable. She offers a delightful presence. Sanya Malhotra is good in her role. She has beautiful but has a very limited screen space. She is playing Ayushmann Khurrana’s girl friend. Rahul Tewari as Ayushmann’s friend, Junna, is very good in his screen space. Sheeba Chaddha’s cameo is good.

Badhaai Ho Movie is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, who shines as a director. Badhaai Ho is a clean family entertainer which gives a strong message to those with the mentality of certain people which unfortunately still exists. Breaking a taboo, people can laugh throughout.
