Namaste England is an average film with predictable plot!

Namaste England has Param (Arjun Kapoor) who likes Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) and seen looking for her during festivals. The film starts with Diwali and then there is Holi and Baisakhi, he finds a good reason of getting close to her. And there is a decision to get someone married! The guy is chosen from one group and the girl has to hail from Jasmeet’s group, because Param feels that a wedding is the perfect occasion to find love. The wedding dates comes and they both get intimate in a single meeting. Jasmeet is an ambitious girl who roots for feminism in every chance she gets, until she gets married to Param.

After they get marriage, audience are taken ahead a year and we get to see Jasmeet and Param dreaming about England. Year later, Param is still struggling to get his Visa approved for England. Struggling because at his wedding he beat up his friend who’s from an influential family and in revenge that ‘hamare-chacha-vidhayak-hai’ type guy claims that Param will never get any Visa in his life. Jasmeet says she will go on a work Visa and Param decides to join her illegally via Baghdad and Brussels. How he convinces her to come back to India is what the rest of the story is about.

Namaste England  has literally nothing much to offer. It would be wrong to refer to the title of Akshay Kumar’s classic Namaste London. Arjun tries hard to act like Akshay, there’s a patriotic monologue as Namaste London but it’s not to the mark. Right from pop-feminism to jingoism and to empower women, Namaste England fails to create a mark.

Arjun Kapoor is average in this film. Vipul was keen to make this with Akshay, instead got Arjun onboard. Parineeti Chopra does not have much to offer in the film. Alankrita Sahai looks great and gave a decent performance.

Namaste England by Vipul Amrutlal Shah miserably fails. His direction is poor and it’s driving the aimless story.

Namaste England releases on 18th October 2018.
