Warner Bros’ DC film Aquaman is going to hit Indian screens on December 14, which is a week earlier than its US release date, December 21. The first DC film since last year’s Justice League, Aquaman is based on a human-Atlantean hybrid Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) who is called upon by Amber Heard’s Mera to take the Atlantean throne as its rightful king.
He has no choice but to fight his half-brother, Patrick Wilson’s King Orm or Oceanmaster, his sinister lieutenant Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and others. He also has to work hard and stop Orm from raging a war against the ‘surface world’, which is our world, for irreversibly polluting the oceans.
Directed by James Wan (The Conjuring), Aquaman also stars Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren and Nicole Kidman among others.
The official synopsis of Aquaman, “From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.”
