Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are reuniting in Bharat. While the details about the mega film are being closely guarded, a glimpse of the first looks of these two actors was released by Salman on Instagram today. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who has previously helmed Salman Khan and Katrina’s Tiger Zinda Hai, Bharat has been hogging headlines for its unique plot.bharat

In the photo, both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have their backs facing the camera as they are looking at Pakistan from the Wagah Border in India. While Salman Khan is wearing a suit, Katrina is dressed in a saree, complete with a shawl and open hair.

Interestingly, this isn’t the real Wagah Border in Amritsar. A crew member told The Indian Express that the film’s team rather recreated the Indo-Pakistan border area in Ballowal village in Ludhiana, Punjab. This is because shooting isn’t allowed by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Wagah Border due to security reasons. Also, because Bharat has scenes which require the actors to cross the border and move to the Pakistani side which isn’t allowed by either country.

Salman had some time back also shared a click with Katrina, from a song shoot of Bharat. This apart from Ali and the films crew posting several behind-the-scenes clicks on their social media accounts.

Bharat reportedly is an official adaptation of a 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father. It is produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. It was earlier supposed to star Priyanka Chopra. However, Katrina replaced the actor after the former decided to call it quits owing to her engagement with Nick Jonas.

Bharat has so far been shot over various schedules in Mumbai, Delhi, Abu Dhabi, Spain and Malta. The film also stars Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, Tabu and Manav Vij, among others. It is slated for an Eid release in 2019.
