Very entertaining, the film should be considered as an inspirational story and Thackeray. The film starts with showing an ordinary man Bal Keshav Thackeray (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who’s a sketch artist. A

Thackeray and his talent was misunderstood by many. Resigning from his job at Free Press Journal, Balasaheb starts Marmik – a weekly portraying his bold cartoons. Through Marmik and the injustice happening on Marathi people in their own state, Balasaheb makes a decision to form a group naming it as Shiv Sena. This becomes a revolution that was a boon for many and became a bane for some of them. Thackeray, who was people’s leader, continued to be powerful in the state. He stands against all opposition and faces them, this is his life story.

Sanjay Raut’s story is engrossing and provides a lot of entertainment to keep the audience intrigued. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is great and in the zone. After Manto, the actor has a big win with Thackeray as far as his performance is concerned. Right from adapting the mannerisms to voice modulation, Nawazuddin is transformed in the film. Amrita Rao as Meena Tai is exceptional. She does justice to her character. Abhijit Panse’s direction is outstanding and allows people to connect with the movie instantly. Sandeep Shirodkar’s main theme of Thackeray is great.

Thackeray is a journey of a person larger than life portrayed in an exceptional manner. Nawazuddin Siddiqui gives a superlative performance and the film is one of his best.
