Raazi starring Alia Bhatt is a work of art by Meghna Gulzar. The narration is par excellence and calls for all attention in addition to a stupendous performance delivered by Alia Bhatt. The film has many thrilling scenes that enhances the feel of the film ensuring audience to have their eyes glued on the screen.

Raazi revolves around the life of Sehmat (Alia Bhatt), a common college going girl whose father Hidayat (Rajit Kapur) is a senior member of the intelligence bureau of India. The sour relations between India and Pakistan are getting worse leading to a war. Hidayat, who is under the disguise of a friend to the military officials of Pakistan decides to create a bond by marrying his daughter to Brigadier Syed’s (Shishir Sharma) son Iqbal Syed (Vicky Kaushal).

Sehmat decides to let go of her life and shift to Pakistan and spy for the intelligence bureau. She lives amongst them, Sehmat takes daring steps and to attain the confidential information in order to give India an advantage in the upcoming war. She faces danger and risks her life, she succeeds but one the other hand has Iqbal who loves her with all his heart. The story is about what all she goes through to protect the pride of her nation.

Alia Bhatt follows up on the guidelines of Meghna Gulzar’s captivating narration. Alia Bhatt as Sehmat turns brave going through various emotions. She is the girl who fears blood but fights her fears and can do anything for her country. Meghna is brilliant and is able to teleport audience to the setting created by her for the film. Raazi is a bold and very powerful film, it speaks volumes. The story is set in 1971, Raazi is a story that one decision that changed the course of history. Sehmat is mature, innocent and Raazi has Alia Bhatt showcase all the elements with grace. She is able to portray the dangers and not once overdoes it. The actress has given us Highway and Udta Punjab, with Raazi she attains an all new pedestal. Vicky Kaushal’s character Iqbal Syed is mature and subtle. He played his role with tact. Vicky justifies his part in the story. Rajit Kapur as Alia Bhatt’s father is impressive although does not have much screen time but is perfect fit for the script. Shishir Sharma as Vicky Kaushal’s father is excellent and portray the side of Pakistan. Jaideep Ahlawat as Khalid Mir gives a good performance. Amruta Khanvilkar as Munira looks beautiful and gives a very good performance.

This spy film has music that elevates the emotions. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy live up to the expectations and keep the songs as a part of the story. Dilbaro reveals the pain of Alia Bhatt’s character. Arijit Singh’s Ae Watan is all about the feeling of patriotism.

Raazi is a tribute to the heroes of our country.
