Unicorn Store to star Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson

Captain Marvel and Agent Fury are back for another film.

After the premiere of their big Marvel film collaboration, Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson join forces again in the first Unicorn Store trailer for Larson’s Netflix film, which marks her directorial feature debut.

The film is based on a script by Samantha McIntyre (TBS’ People of Earth), Unicorn Store — filled with rainbows in a Lisa Frank pop-up store. The film stars the Oscar winner as Kit, a twenty-something dreamer reluctant to leave the safety net of her family and embrace adulthood. That change is thrust upon her after her rainbow creations don’t impress art school and she’s kicked out.

She was forced to move back in with her parents and take up a boring temporary job, she encounters a mysterious salesman (a glittery Jackson), who offers to grant her heart’s desire: a unicorn! Right in this moment, it reignites her childlike soul just as she’s about ready to behave like an adult.

Her mom and dad (Joan Cusack, Bradley Whitford) think she has lost her mind, especially when she says things like, you get unicorns from “the unicorn store.”

Mamoudou Athie (Sorry For Your Loss), Karan Soni (Deadpool 2), Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars), and Annaleigh Ashford (The Assassination of Gianni Versace) also feature in the cast.

Unicorn Store will premiere on Netflix this April 5.
