Science fiction thriller Vivarium is all set to make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie is directed by Lorcan Finnegan, stars Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots as a young engaged couple, who finds themselves trapped in a strange situation with no way out. The first image released from the film, trailer is yet to come out. XYZ Films has the global distribution rights and hopes to find foreign buyers at the film festival.

Eisenberg and Poots will play a couple who follow a real estate agent to a new housing development to find the perfect starter home. Ge gets trapped in a maze of homes that are identical and forced to raise an otherworldly child.

Jack Hudson will be seen as costars as the real estate agent.

The movie was filmed last July in Finnegan’s native Ireland. This is Finnegan’s second feature film, following 2016’s ‘Without Name’, which won four prizes at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

Poots was seen in the Showtime series ‘Roadies’, which was created by Cameron Crowe and costarred Luke Wilson. She is presently filming the action-thriller ‘Prisoners of the Ghostland’ with Nicolas Cage, and the HBO TV series ‘I Know This Much Is True’, which stars Mark Ruffalo as identical twins, one of whom is a paranoid schizophrenic. Poots also appeared in the pilot for FX’s ‘Y’, based on the comic book ‘Y: The Last Man’. The actress portrayed Hero, the sister of Yorick, the series’ main character. That series is presently being redone.

Eisenberg recently wrapped ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’, the long-awaited sequel to the 2009 cult classic horror-comedy. He also has the World War II drama ‘Resistance’ in the can, and is all set to appear in ‘The Medusa’, set in post-Napoleonic France. He is seen in films such as ‘The Social Network’, ‘American Ultra’, ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’, and the ‘Now You See Me’.
