Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and director Rohit Shetty are all set to begin the journey of their cop-drama Sooryavanshi. The team has the support of the other two popular cops- Ranveer Singh (Simmba) and Ajay Devgn (Singham).

The film is produced by Karan Johar who took to his social media to share the picture of all these superstars in a single frame and announced that they are ready to embark on the journey. Akshay Kumar, who plays the lead in Sooryavanshi, also shared the picture and wrote, “The cop universe just got bigger as #Sooryavanshi takes charge!” On the other hand, Ranveer Singh went an extra mile as he shared a number of clicks with producer Karan Johar. Along with Akshay Kumar, Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif and Neena Gupta in important roles. Badhaai Ho actress Neena Gupta will be seen in the role of the mother in the cop-drama and she has revealed that her role is not of a stereotypical mother but has various dimensions to it. On the other hand, Katrina Kaif is all set to play Akshay Kumar’s wife in Sooryavanshi.

Sharing more to Mumbai Mirror, Neena Gupta confirmed that she will be playing Akshay Kumar’s mother in Sooryavanshi. Revealing details about her character, the actress told the publication, “This is an interesting role because it isn’t the stereotypical mother who asks his son about food, marriage etc., but has several dimensions. There is a new temperament to the mother, and you will get to see a very different dynamic between Akshay, Katrina and me. This is a new, sweet and interesting space that I am looking to explore. I am happy that more people will get to see my work. Rohit has made some amazing films which have been appreciated by the audience.”
