The Invisible Guest is a Spanish film from which Badla is adapted. Badla is great in it’s screenplay that clenches every emotion together till the very end.

It’s a brilliant film and will attract the regular moviegoers. The film has scenes that demand all attention leaving no space to take a break.

Naina Sethi, the business person of the year, is accused of murdering her boyfriend Arjun (Tony Luke) in a hotel. Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan), is the lawyer who has never lost any case i.e. the Harvey Specter of London, comes in the scene to help Naina. He tells Naina to take three hours and share out every truth she knows or else she could get arrested owing to a new witness coming to light.

As time passes by, Naina shares the layers of truth to Badal. With the exact turn of events, the audience gets to know about Naina and Arjun’s families. Naina, this businesswoman, has a lot to reveal and there could be no person better than Badal to help her go through this. The remaining part of the story is 3-hour conversation over the table concludes unveiling the real through Badal is hunting since the start.

Badla by Sujoy Ghosh has desi version of The Invisible Guest by shooting Mahabharata’s ideologies all through the film. The script is complicated and forces people to think too many things but how many of your predictions come true. Ghosh through his magical direction covers up many twists under his hat revealing them at the very right time. Avik Mukhopadhyay’s camerawork is skillfull and gives brilliant sequences.

Amitabh Bachchan looks focused and edgy. He delivers performance on similar lines. It is one of his memorable performances. After movies like Pink, Mulk, Manmarziyaan and now Badla, Taapsee Pannu is an actress we all know she is a natural and doing well with every film. She delivers a very difficult-to-act performance. Amrita Singh has an important role in the film and she carries out the role of Rani well. Tony Luke and Manav Kaul are good too.

Badla by Sujoy Ghosh is adapted the screenplay to design it into that unsolvable question of logical reasoning. The background score of the film captures the tension of the room. Badla offers outstandingly performance in this thrilling drama.
