The new character posters of Disney’s upcoming live-action film, The Lion King are out. The film has been directed by Jon Favreau.

The makers of The Lion King on Friday released new character posters, making fans thrilled. The live-action adaptation of the 1994 film of the same name has been directed by Jon Favreau. The Lion King is slated to be released on July 19. Scroll on to see the new posters from the much-awaited film.

The film’s voice cast is being led by Donald Glover as Simba, the crown prince of the Pride Lands. Disney’s original The Lion King has achieved a cult status over the years.

We see the ferocious Mufasa, the King of the Pride Lands and the father of Simba. James Earl Jones, who had voiced Mufasa in the 1994 film, will again lend his voice to the character. Beyonce Knowles-Carter has lend her voice to Nala, Simba’s childhood best friend and future love-interest. Actor John Kani has dubbed for Rafiki who is a wise mandrill, serving as the shaman and is also a close friend of Mufasa. Scar is the treacherous brother of Mufasa who wishes to become the king of the Pride Lands. Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor has given voice for the character. Timon is the meerkat who adopts a young Simba and becomes his friend, after the later runs away from home. Actor-comedian Billy Eichner has dubbed for Timon. Timon’s partner Pumbaa is a slow-witted common warthog. Seth Rogen has voiced this interesting character. Alfre Woodard plays Sarabi, the queen of the Pride Lands and Simba’s mother. English actor John Oliver voiced for Zazu, the bird who acts as the king’s adviser.
