Saand Ki Aankh starring Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar targets the spirit of freedom and pride. Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar have given a different perspective to struggles and taught that its never too late to stand up and live life to the fullest.

The film starts with 1999 in a Johri Village of UP, in which a few months old women are seen planning to get outside the home without their husbands. Chandro Tomar (Bhumi Pednekar) and Prakashi Tomar (Taapsee Pannu) live around men who’re amused at the Dadis for picking up the gun. The audience gets to see the past and how they both actually become Shooter Dadis. The duo are bonded and both Prakashi and Chandro are very similar to each other. Right from sneaking out from their male-dominated house to encouraging their granddaughters train for the sport of shooting, there’s a lot more in the second half film. Saand Ki Aankh starring Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar  play the Shooter Dadis. Saand Ki Aankh has many scenes that are too fictional even for a biopic. The script is a bit confusing and also contradictory in many ways. There are many scenes that suggest domestic abuse but no visuals of it. The film fails to connect with the audience. Filled with dramatic portions, there are issues with Devendra Murdeshwar’s editing. There are many missing flashbacks that are required. The film could have been like Paan Singh Tomar, Patiala House & Dangal but is lacking in many ways. There are lots of heroic moments but unfortunately, they aren’t supported by the story.

Saand Ki Aankh features Taapsee Pannu as Prakashi and Bhumi Pednekar as Chandro and the duo are playing believable characters as the old grannies with their act. Bhumi and Taapsee continue to maintain the uniformity till the end of the film. Both have a share of brilliant acts and have mastered emotional scenes as well. Prakash Jha is brilliant playing a tailor-made role for the character of Rattan Singh Tomar. He gives a negative vibe and that suits the status in the house. Viineet Kumar Singh, Pritha Bakshi and Sara Arjun do their bit and add to the film. Pritha shares a very inspiring scene with the dadis.

Saand Ki Aankh has Tushar Hiranandani’s music with basic songs. The five songs such as Udta Teetar did were able to create an impact in the trailer but seems loud in the film. Asha Bhosle’s Aasmaa is a great song, but doesn’t bring out the feels it should have. The theme of Womaniya seems like R. Rajkumar’s title theme. Advait Nemlekar’s background score is average.

Saand Ki Aankh is a good film starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar and have given brilliant performances.

Saand Ki Aankh releases on 25th October, 2019.
