Marjaavaan makes all attempts to offer an emotional action rollercoaster, but the execution doesn’t quite make the kill. This is a genuine Riteish Deshmukh film but the story is not so genuine.

Raghu (Sidharth Malhotra) work under Anna (Nassar) who has a dwarf son Vishnu (Riteish Deshmukh). Raghu is loyal to Anna and Vishnu does not like him at all. We then see Zoya (Tara Sutaria) who cannot speak but this being a Milap Zaveri film, she also gets to speak her dialogues. Zoya is from Kashmir and is in search for kids who can sing in Mumbai’s slum area. Raghu helps Zoya find those kids, he is in a relationship Aarzoo (Rakul Preet Singh). A few item songs later, as we’ve seen in the trailer, Vishnu kills Zoya but he has his reasons. Raghu hates Vishnu as much as Vishnu hates him and then begins the revenge.

“Na Tipu, na Sultan, na Azhar, Salman bhai ka fan hoon, naam hai Mazhar.” “Maarunga kanpatti pe, dard mitega Ganpati pe.” “3 foot ke body se, 2 takke ki jaan nikal.” This dialogue had all the ammo of becoming a Gunda. The melodramatic story is a formula film by Milap.

Marjaavaan stars Sidharth Malhotra who gives a decent performance. Riteish Deshmukh enjoys every role. He tries his best to look convincing in the role. Tara Sutaria is a beauty but manages to express herself well but all goes in vain because of the script. Rakul Preet could’ve doe better with a meaty role, she’s underutilised. Nora Fatehi’s single song grabs eyeballs. Ravi Kishen also has a small part to play.

Marjaavaan movie targets the single-screen audiences.

Marjaavaan releases on 15th November, 2019.
