Pati Patni Aur Woh offers a reboot of the classic with Aparshakti Khurana & Kartik Aaryan’s charm.

The film has a slow pace that drops at places but is an entertainer and breezy watch. The story moves between two cities of Lucknow and Kanpur. Both Vedika (Bhumi Pednekar) and Abhinav aka Chintu Tyagi (Kartik Aaryan) get along in their meeting and get married through an arranged marriage, in which Chintu seems confused. Vedika seems to be in-charge, viewers will get to see their journey from ‘just married’ to ‘rust married’ with one song.

The entry of ‘woh’ Tapasya (Ananya Panday) and we see Chintu going gall out to get her attention. He tries his best to find the missing ingredient in his marriage, but gets close to Tapasya and then the issue starts. Vedika comes up with her own back-story about his past and that gets blended in this comedy of errors. The story revolves around Chintu’s double-dealings and he getting rescued by his friend in need Fahim (Aparshakti Khurrana).

This modernised version is picked from Sanjeev Kumar’s 1978 film. Mudassar Aziz has offered very interesting one-liners to maintain the fun throughout. Sharing about the major complaints, the fun and humour is good by supporting cast.

Kartik Aaryan delivers a good and controlled performance. His portrayal of Chintu Sharma makes him a heartthrob with the young crowds. He is playing around the accent which works well with his character. He loses his  moustache and does a good role in adapting the transition. Along with Kartik Aaryan’s presence, Aparshakti Khurana stands tall here which is the biggest takeaway. He gives the one-liners an all new fun expressions. He is brilliant with his performance. Ananya Panday delivers as per instructions. Bhumi Pednekar is charming as Patni and she gets a better character. Her character gets a modern twist and the actress is able to adapt very well. A very impressive performance. Sunny Singh with Kartik Aaryan has a compelling cameo.

Pati Patni Aur Woh is an entertaining reboot of a classic. A treat for Kartik fans for light-hearted fun!
