Shimla Mirchi movie starring Rajkummar Rao, Rakul Preet is Hema Malini’s film that finally released after five years.

Just as the title suggests, Shimla Mirchi is the story is set in Shimla. Avinash (Rajkummar Rao) is unhappy with his family as they have visited the same hill-station for a number of time. He’s 26 years old and still gets pressurized from his family to get married. He makes a decision to stay back in Shimla after he falls in love at first sight with Naina (Rakul Preet Singh). Naina is a smart girl who has suffered because of parents’ divorce. She’s looking to build a cafe in Shimla and requires a helper for that. Avinash sees this as an opportunity to get close to her and apply for the job. Obviously, he gets selected and tried to confess his feelings for Naina. The story is all about how a letter creates confusion and Avi instead of Naina becomes her mother’s (Hema Malini) boyfriend.

Ramesh Sippy has a long list of writers to pen this script. The concept was good but the execution fails. The film is a 5-year delayed film. The film is adapted from a French romantic comedy De Vrais Mensonges is graded a 39 rotten on Rotten Tomatoes. The entire track of Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao, Rakul Preet Singh’s romantic comedy is average. Shimla Mirchi was shot somewhere around in 2014, Rajkummar Rao tries to mimic Shah Rukh Khan, which is clearly visible in many scenes. Rajkummar has given better films after the making of this one. Rakul Preet Singh looks fresh but very raw in her performance. She goes by delivering what’s on the paper and that’s all. Hema Malini comes out weak for the film with her accent and everything. Shakti Kapoor’s plays a lame character.

Shimla Mirchi is an average film.

Shimla Mirchi releases on 3rd February, 2020.
