Chiyaan Vikram was last seen in Kadaram Kondan and currently is waiting to score a blockbuster hit. For past few years, his films have been average-grossers. The actor is hoping that his upcoming flick, Cobra does well. The film is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu.

A couple of weeks ago, the makers along with Vikram and the rest of the cast headed to Russia to shoot some important sequences for the film. The shoot was progressing at a brisk pace until March 11. Today, the director announced that the shooting has been stalled mid-way due to Coronavirus outbreak.

He took to Twitter to announce, “Corona attack for #Cobra Unamused faceUnamused face Packing up shoot in Russia halfway due to the travel ban rules by Indian Goverenment!! Pongaya neengalum Unga corona vum!! (sic).”

On March 11, the World Health Organisation declared the Coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic. Following the announcement, the Indian government imposed a travel ban and advised citizens to avoid unnecessary overseas travel. Adhering to the rule, the Cobra team is now on its way to India.

Cobra is helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, who shot to fame with Nayanthara and Anurag Kashyap’s Imaikaa Nodigal. In the film, Vikram will be seen in as many as 25 get-ups. The film makers released the first-look poster, which charmed everyone.

The film features Vikram, Srinidhi Shetty and former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan playing prominent roles.
