Paatal Lok review featuring on Amazon Prime Video has Anushka Sharma’s debut show Starring Jaideep Ahlawat. Paatal Lok is full of violence on screen and has a combination of metaphors and entertainment.

With star rating of 4/5 stars (Four Stars) Paatal Lok creates a crime/suspense drama with metaphors. It has a lot for both kinds of audience, including intellectuals and ones looking for ‘masala’? Sudip Sharma along with the talented team of Amazon Prime Video’s Paatal Lok has impressive performers such as Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhishek Banerjee and co-produced by Anushka Sharma. The web show takes you to a violent phase to ‘what you seek is seeking you’.

The web series is set in Delhi, Paatal Lok is based on the mythological tale of the three Loks, Paatal Lok, Dharti Lok and Swarg Lok. The story begins at the point where the three intercepts and an entangled mystery is created. There are four murderers who are hired and are arrested by the police and the investigation begins. With further search. it shows that there is a bigger tangle than what appears. The questions arise – who was the target? Who is the suspect? What roles do our four pillars of democracy play in this is the show.

The web series show the massive divide between the haves and the have-nots. Writer Sudip Sharma treats Delhi as a universe and divides it into Dharti Lok, Pataal Lok and Swarg Lok, metaphorical to the staring class divide we live in. While Paatal Lok is strong in terms of performance, it is highly driven by talented writers led by Sudip. The focus is on the Paatal Lok, which includes the have-nots. And this is where four accused (Abhishek Banerjee, Aasif Khan, Jagjeet Sandhu and Mariembam Ronaldo Singh) belong from. The makers share with us what makes them evil and a murder mystery and a suspense drama, and these are all accused of a heinous crime.

Writers Sudip Sharma backed by Gunjit Chopra, Sagar Haveli and Hardik Mehta have tightly controlled this story. Not just underlining the facts, they make sure they stay true to the character traits. The drama has action sequences, lots of nail-biting twists and the ammunition for cravings. Director Avinash Arun (who has Marathi film Killa to his credit) and Prosit Roy are great in their form. Paatal Lok is great with Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhishek Banerjee, Ishwak Singh, Neeraj Kabi, Aasif Khan, Niharika Dutt, Gul Panag are good in their respective roles.

Paatal Lok is brutal and the violence on screen is disturbing to watch. Sudip Sharma has NH10 to his credit, this is his USP. The women in the show majorly Gul and Swastika don’t have a lot of role in the series. The characters are sketched well. Gul Panag has difficulty with her dialect a few times and sounds fluent in English.

Paatal Lok is a combination offering a massive adrenaline rush and entertainment!
