Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga, Tahira Kashyap’s short film Bittu in enlisted on Top 10 for Oscars 2021.
Bittu is a heart-warming story and has had a stellar festival with more than 18 festivals and many wins. The film is screened at the BFI London Film Festival, Telluride, Palm Springs Shortfest, HollyShorts. Bittu has came to India with Dharamshala International Film Festival. Karishma has won the best director award.
‘Bittu’ is the maiden project under ‘Indian Women Rising’, Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, and Ruchikaa Kapoor support empowering story presented by Karishma Dev Dube in the director’s hat, Shreya Dev Dube as the cinematographer and Mary Evangelista who produced the film.
Based on a true story, Bittu is a short movie about a close friendship between two girls and an accidental poisoning at school. Casting real children right from the valleys of the Himalayas to shooting against the backdrop of the mountains, the film offers a visually aesthetic along with an authentic experience, to its viewers.
The cinema collective ‘Indian Women Rising’ discovers Indian female talent in cinema and expand its scope of marketing, sales, and distribution beyond the demographical boundaries.
