Saina starring Parineeti Chopra is a biopic of Saina Nehwal the badminton star.

Parineeti Chopra, Amole Gupte have succeeded in presenting a film that has an emotional and inspiring connect!
Saina is what you need to watch this weekend in cinemas.

Saina Nehwal has faced many struggles in life. We get to meet those who helped her reach greater heights. The film is all about her dreams and hurdles in her way, her mistakes and decisions to succeed. Saina is a film that will not just make you happy, it will also help you gain confidence in yourself. Amole Gupte has skilfully played knowledge of human emotions. He is able to create a connect with the audience’s feelings. His script is crisp and begins with narration the life and struggles of the athlete and then there’s an emotional ending.

Amole Gupte shows Saina winning the Commonwealth Games in the first scene and still makes you shed tears in the first scene itself. The entire first half is emotional and shares beautiful moments that are heart warming. The film shares the bond of Saina with her parents. Her mother goes all out in ensuring that she gets trailed at the best possible academy, the way her father encourages her. Their unconditional love is very nice to watch. The first half involves a young Saina which has been played by a child actress. The script is very tight and glues you to the chair.

Parineeti Chopra is seen on screen after The Girl on the Train and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, this is a good performance by her. She seems to be in control and has played the character of Saina well. She has learnt the badminton skills. Manav Kaul is a powerful actor and his excellence in role is seen in character. As he plays the role of Saina’s coach in the movie, he makes you fall in love with it with his performance. Meghna Malik brilliant as Saina’s mom. She adds the soul to the script. The dialogue delivery is just too good. Subhrajyoti Barat is sensitive as the character of Saina’s father. His character has heart-touching moments and he does it well. Saina’s friend and partner, Parupalli Kashyap is endearing character in the film and Eshan Naqvi is great at it. The child actress who plays young Saina is superb. Ankur Vikal plays a small role.

Amole Gupte is a gifted writer and knows his job as a director as well. He treats his film like one and never misses a chance to play with your heartstrings. He has made the film with so much heart and it’s visible because there’s so much underlying beauty to every scene that the audience doesn’t even expect.

Amaal Malik’s music is great. Parinda is a good track well sung by Amaal himself. Main Hoon Na Tere Saath (Amaal) & Chal Wahin Chalein (Shreya Ghoshal) are also very good. Manoj Muntashir has written Parinda and Chal Wahin Chalein and his lyrics are great. Kunaal Vermaa has also done a fantastic job writing Main Hoon Na Tere Saath.

Saina is a great film to feel inspired and entertained!

Saina releases on 26th March, 2021.
