Actress Yami Gautam has designed her own look in the Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury film Lost — the National Award-winner’s second Hindi after Pink. The upcoming film also stars Pankaj Kapur and Rahul Khanna.

“Yami plays a fact-finding journalist and she will sport a de-glam look. The actress will go with minimal makeup and decided to plan the look herself,” says a source.

While she has a different look in Lost, she will wear corporate-like attire, says a source.

Pankaj Kapur plays a professor who helps Yami when she is in a dilemma. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury has finally started shooting for his next Hindi film ‘Lost’ in Kolkata. On Sunday, Yami Gautam who plays the leading lady in the film shot for a few scenes in Kalighat area. Wearing a simple yellow kurta the actress looked every bit in her character of an investigative journalist in the film.

To be shot in Kolkata and Purulia in a packed schedule, ‘Lost’ also stars Rahul Khanna and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles along with well-known Kolkata actors Kaushik Sen, Sohag Sen, Suman Mukhopadhyay and actor-director Arindam Sil.

The filmmaker casted Yami Gautam as a journalist that too Kolkata being the backdrop. To this, Aniruddha added. “I needed a very impactful and intelligent face which could express the emotions of a character walking on a thin red line. Yami (Gautam) fit the part very well. I am so happy that I will be getting to work with her. She is an excellent actor and has a very sharp mind,” explained the director who had made his first Hindi film ‘Pink’ five years ago and in his first Bollywood directorial he had managed to win hearts.
When asked why he opted for Kolkata as the film’s backdrop the critically acclaimed filmmaker said: Kolkata is an amazing city, it has everything. The city has a certain fragrance that you won’t find anywhere else. Organically, I picked Kolkata as the setting because this is the city I know best. It’s in my blood. There are good artistes and technicians here. I haven’t seen a city with as much character as Kolkata. Also, the authorities here have been very helpful and very cooperative. It should be the next destination for film-making. It’s a city that should reach the world.”

Lost is the second film which Yami is shooting for after her marriage to Uri director Aditya Dhar. The shoot is presently going on place at Kolkata.
