Sidharth Malhotra has given a powerful performance as Vikram Batra. The actor shines and have added another film will gain appreciation and could set the box office ablaze.

Presenting sharp and clear cut scenes – the film has nailed each department with valuable addition, right from acting to cinematography and also good music and captivating screenplay.  The film has a good pace and won’t let you get to pause.

The story begins with Palampur youngster Vikram Batra (Sidharth Malhotra), son of a teacher, who dreams to be serving his country someday. He is obsessed with the army uniform and wears it on every occasion in his school. As he grows older, he prepares to join and before giving the exams, and he falls in love with a simple girl Dimple (Kiara Advani).

He almost decides to sacrifice his ‘army’ dream to choose Merchant Navy for more money to gain the approval of the girl’s family, Vikram is then advised by his friend Sunny (Sahil Vaid). He goes to become the lieutenant and earn respect among his team members by capturing dangerous terrorists around. With his regiment, he goes into the Kargil War facing Pakistani militants ambushing the LOC. Recapturing two of the main points, Vikram Batra leads his teammates, giving his country men a reason to celebrate, which today is known as ‘Vijay Divas’ (16th December).

Shershaah gives you information and it much better from the repeated films related to Kargil War. Coming from the Kabir Singh school of filmmaking, the writer Sandeep Srivastava (New York, additional dialogue for Kabul Express) keeps the plot compact. The romance in between the film doesn’t seen out of place. There is drama along with a lot of unfiltered action. Kamaljeet Negi gives great camerawork helping the film to showcase the storyline. Sreekar Prasad restricts the movie to its best time of 135 mins.

Shershaah stars Sidharth Malhotra who gives his best in the film. Watch the end-credits, which has an interview of the OG Vikram Batra (PVC) & you can see how Sidharth has embodied him in the movie’s scenes. The charm of Sidharth makes him present the heroic magnetism Vikram Batra!

Kiara Advani fits in well as the protagonist’s lover. She is great in her role and gives the character an alluring charm. She has a limited screen-presence, the makers show her importance as Dimple in Vikram’s life known to the audience. Shiv Pandit as Jimmy has good scenes. Jimmy’s character needed a lot of depth and a much better connection with Vikram Batra for better impact. Sahil Vaid and the team members, Nikitin Dheer, Anil Charanjeett, Shataf Figar and Raj Arjun stand out from the rest.

Shershaah has Vishnu Varadhan who has kept things to the point. John Stewart Eduri’s background score has a good theme.

Sidharth Malhotra is fantastic in the film, “Yeh Dil maange more!”

Shershaah releases on 12th August 2021.
