Movie: Toofaan Cast: Farhan Akhtar, Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak, Vijay Raaz, Hussain, Mohan Writer: Salim Khan K.K. Shukla Director: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Our rating: 3.5/5 (Three And A Half Star) Official trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qalsBNwZds

Toofaan starring Farhan Akhtar’s is about dedication to the sport. Mrunal Thakur’s acting and Jay Oza’s camera work is appealing.

With a runtime of 2 hours 40 minutes, Toofaan presents Farhan as Ajju Bhai who tries to get into illegal trade in Dongri. Farhan is good and convincing in his role, he is seen showing off his boxing skills!

Ajju Bhai, aka Aziz Ali (Farhan Akhtar) makes a living by extortion under a local gangster (Vijay Raaz) in Mumbai’s Dongri. Ajju meets Ananya (Mrunal Thakur), who gives him reason enough to become Aziz Ali, the boxer. Then starts the work as Nana Prabhu (Paresh Rawal) keeps him focused and trains him, and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had himself has to make an appearance. Story and screenplay of Toofan is by Anjum Rajabali. Toofaan, is about a man finding a way to get dignity back and finding redemption after a point. The film enter Dongri and meet Ajju Bhai, who is believes in being the Robinhood. Through him, we meet Ananya quickly. Toofan gets into conflicts and in no time Azis shows victory; the film then quickly moves to solution.

Farhan Akhtar is exceptional as he plays two phases in one film. While he is impressive as he starts getting into the boxing ring as Aziz Ali, he is a natural with throwing punches and becoming the boxer who is in his top form with his 2000 bulging muscles. But as Ajju Bhai, the don, he struggles to play the bad man. Maurya’s screenplay is very good. Mrunal Thakur is all innocence, and her charming smile warms the heart. She does her bit in becoming Aziz’s anchor, inspires and motivates him at the same time. Paresh Rawal is a star actor and gives his best as the coach Nana Prabhu. The actor is a veteran as he gains your attention in every scene.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is excellent in conveying a story he shares the hard work and struggle. Jay Oza’s cinematography captures the world and focus is entirely on the place the actors are standing. Shankar Ehsaan Loy’s music is average and does not create the magic.

Toofaan presents yet another inspirational sports film!

Toofan releases on 16th July, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.
